Quote command
To display a quote
- Focus on the Security field and type in a security or watchlist code then
either press the Enter key or press the Menu key and select "Request". The command
will start watching quote data.
- To enter a new security, simply type the security code or scroll back to the Security
field.
- To clear the current list of securities, press the Menu key and select "Clear Screen".
Loading and saving watchlists
- To save a list of securities or make modifications to a watchlist, press the Menu
key and select "Save". A dialog will appear and prompt for a watchlist name, enter
the name and select "Save".
- Any webIRESS or MobileIRESS watchlists which have been created by the user will
appear in the Menu. To load one of these simply press the Menu key and select the
desired watchlist from the Menu.
Closing and shutting down
- If the Quote screen is the last active screen when MobileIRESS is closed, the list
of securities or the watchlist previously viewed will be restored upon re-opening
MobileIRESS.
Depth/Detail Snapshot command (non-streaming)
To display bids and offers in the market
- Focus on the Security field and type in a security code then either press the Enter
key or press the Menu key and select "Request". The Depth command will display Depth
mode with consolidated values for bids and asks.
Launching from Quote command
- Scroll down to a security code and highlight row. Press the Menu key and select
"Depth [security code]" to display Depth mode or "Detail [security code]" to display
Detail mode.
Switching between Depth and Detail mode
- Press the Menu key and select "Show Depth" or "Show Detail".
Refreshing the Snapshot
- Press the Menu key and select "Request" or simply press the Enter key again.
News Command
Watching live updating headlines
- Request with <All> or no security code specified and the command will start
watching live news headlines.
To search for news headline by security code
- Focus on the Security field and type in a security code then either press the Enter
key or press the Menu key and select "Request".
Viewing a story
- Scroll down to the headline to view the associated story, and from the Menu select
"View Story".
Launching from Quote command
- Scroll down to a security code and highlight row. Press the Menu key and select
"NEWS [security code]" to view news headlines relating to the security code.
General use
Switching between commands
- Press the Menu key and select "Depth/Detail Snapshot", "Quote" or "News".
- Once you have opened a number of commands you may switch between them by pressing
the Escape/Back key.
- If you have only one opened command or you are on the "Login" attempting connection
screen, you may exit MobileIRESS by pressing the Escape/Back key.
Exiting
- To close MobileIRESS press the Menu key and select "Close IRESS", or hold down the
Escape/Back key.
Grid control
Scrolling
- To scroll down and select a row on the grid use the Trackball when the grid has
focus.
- To scroll columns horizontally press or hold the 'ALT' key and use the Trackball
or scroll buttons when the grid has focus. (You can simply scroll horizontally and
vertically with the Trackball on models such as the 8800)
- To page down press the space bar when the grid has focus.
- To page up press or hold the 'ALT' key and the Space bar when the grid has focus.
Deleting
- To delete a row, when the row has focus, press the Menu Key and select "Delete row",
or simply press the Backspace/Delete key on your handset.
